China will issue a total of about three billion U.S dollars worth of yuan-denominated government bonds in Hong Kong this month. It was announced yesterday by China's Ministry of Finance.

Hong Kong Finance Secretary Jonh Tsang welcomes the issue of RMB sovereign bonds in Hong Kong for the third time, and says it promotes Hong Kong as the country's offshore RMB business center.

China's Ministry of Finance also says it will increase investment tools for Hong Kong investors and expand cross-border use of RMB. Analysts say Hong Kong's market has a large demand for RMB sovereign bonds.
