1st tourist train from Moscow to Beijing sets off

A special tourist train travelling from Moscow to Beijing began its first voyage on this week. The train on the world's longest railroad will offer tourists the opportunity to appreciate exotic scenery in Russia, Mongolia and China.

Departing in Moscow, this new tourist train has begun its first two-week trip to Beijing. It stops in a total of eight cities. A rich programme of sightseeing and excursions are offered in each of these cities. One of the highlights is travelling on a circular railway around picturesque Lake Baikal, and a night in an authentic Mongolian yurt.

Apart from that, the train is comfortable and well-equipped. It provides national cuisine, a variety of entertainment activities, and even translation services.

As the first such train between China and Russia, it's expected to enable travellers to learn more about the two countries.

An Italian tourist said, "It's journey of discovery. I feel very excited."

The price for the rail journey averages between 3,500 to 8,000 euros, or about 31 thousand to 72 thousand yuan. The train will arrive in Beijing on August 26th, and it will head back along the same route two days later. Tickets are already sold out, as holiday makers are eager to embark on the magical journey.
