The hammering French shares are getting this morning in Europe reinforce the importance of global collaboration. France's benchmark CAC index was sharply lower in early morning, but they're seeing a bit of a bounce at the moment currently up percent.

Shares there have been pummeled in recent weeks, by worries about the impact of a Greek default on heavily exposed French banks. Shares in two of France's most powerful banks, BNP Paribas and Societe Generale, have been among the worst hit, but some are still optimistic.

Jericho, a passerby said, "I think the banks will resist more or less well, because they aren't simply standing on one leg. There are deposits, there's also the investment banking business in the same group, so I think they are better equipped to resist than the other banks that are more specialized."
