Australian business sentiment slid to its lowest level in over two years in August. According to the National Australia Bank's monthly survey, business confidence fell 10 points to minus 8 in August.

The NAB attributes that to concerns over the potential impact of global market volatility. In contrast, the bank's measure of business conditions dipped a relatively modest 2 points, to -3 in the month.
