Leaders of G20 nations are preparing for a key two-day summit, starting in the French resort city of Cannes.

The meeting comes as the global economy faces multiple uncertainties, including a sluggish U.S. economic recovery, the deepening eurozone debt crisis, and inflation beleaguering emerging markets.

The venue of the G20 summit is seen in Cannes, France, Oct. 30, 2011.

G20 finance ministers proposed a batch of measures in their meeting mid last month, for discussion and review at the summit.

The proposals include fiscal measures to boost market confidence and economic growth, policy adjustments for new emerging markets to balance economic growth and inflationary pressures, and further structural reform.

Analysts say the summit will play an important role in boosting economic recovery, and stabilizing the global financial market.
