For more the latest developments in the U.S., let’s get over to our correspondent, Daniel Ryntjes in Washington.

Q1. It"s been several days now since the super committee basically threw their hands in the air, and admitted failure on reaching any sort of consensus on the deficit problem. President Obama has been mostly keeping out of the whole mess, but what’s been the reaction from Congress and the White House so far?

Q2: There’s been some speculation the U.S. credit rating could be downgraded again, despite three international rating agencies taking a conservative view so far. But does Wall Street and investors expect a downgrade - are they positioning themselves for one?

Thanks Daniel. That’s our correspondent Daniel Ryntjes in Washington D.C.
