Experts: China's interest rates should be market-based

The paper indicates that in order to solve the fundraising difficulties faced by small and medium-sized enterprises, it is necessary to allow interest rates to fluctuate according to market demand. This year, many SMEs in China went bankrupt after getting loans with extremely high interest rates from shadow banking lenders.

The paper notes, the scale of funding required by SMEs is still relatively small. But SMEs do account for the majority of jobs in China. The document suggests lowering funding requirements for these companies, and for interest rates to be adjustable based on demand.

China's interest rates should be market-based.
