In the Central Rural Work Conference, China's Minister of Agriculture says the government will ensure the grain supply in 2012, while also increasing farmers' incomes.

Han Changfu, minister of Ministry of Agriculture said: "We will try all means to ensure grain produce is above 525 million tons and farmers’ incomes will rise at least 7.5 percent."

The minister notes, the government will take measures to support the agricultural sector. But farm production faces many challenges next year. The Minister says, the complicated global economy will impact the sector’s development.

Rising costs and other problems make it harder to ensure stable growth in grain produce. Meanwhile, the minister also says with Chinese SMEs looking at a tougher year in 2012, incomes for migrant workers will likely also be affected.
