For more on China’s June home prices, we are joined in the studio by Professor Tao Ran, director of the School of Economics at Renmin University.

Q1: Home prices in major cities saw a slight rise in June… For instance, Beijing saw a 3 tenths of a percent rise in home prices compared to May, and Shanghai and Guangzhou were both up 2 tenths of a percent. Could you tell us what’s behind the rebound in home prices?

Q2: Well, some analysts have mixed views on the government controls in the property market… They say the slowdown in the housing market has taken its toll on GDP growth. Do you agree with that? What’s your forecast of the trend of home prices in the next half of the year?

Q3: Some say the central government is very determined about reining in housing prices. So what points should be the focus when it comes to controlling home prices in the near-term?
