Video: China listed firms' net profits edge down

According to the China Securities Journal, the gross revenue of China's listed companies reached 17.74 trillion yuan in the first three quarters of the year, increasing by 6 percent on a yearly basis.

Total net profits stood at 1.5 trillion yuan, dropping by around 2 percent, with an average earning of 0.39 yuan per share.

Data also shows listed banks made up more than half of the profits. Among them, 16 leading banks booked nearly 11 percent of gross revenues in the first nine months.

Meanwhile, the food and beverages sector showed steady growth. Its gross revenues jumped nearly 50 percent to about 40 billion yuan.
