China’s Ministry of Commerce is kicking off an investigation to determine whether exporters from the US, South Korea and the European Union are dumping their polysilicon into China, and whether US and EU governments are providing subsidies to their polysilicon producers.

The Ministry is asking suppliers from these countries and EU members to provide monthly data within 15 days on the amount and the value of polysilicon raw material exports in 2012. It also requests they continue handing in information until the preliminary findings of the investigation are announced. Depending on the outcome, the ministry will rule on whether to levy taxes on these products.
