500 students trapped in flood rescued in Fujian

In neighboring Fujian Province, continuos rainfall is also causing floods. 500 middle school students had been trapped in the main school building in Jiayang City. Armed police worked for 5 hours to rescue the kids.

The stationed troops came to the rescue.

The flood water was deep and the complicated underwater situation had to be taken into consideration when forming a rescue plan.

Food and necessities were brought in and rescue started after the water retreated to safe levels.

Every student is accounted for. Outside the school gate were anxious waiting parents.

A parent said, "My son has been trapped in for a day, the whole family was very worried. I came over and saw the boats and navy and felt relieved. Now my daughter is out. "

The boats carried 10 to 12 students at a time. Local fishermen also joint in the rescue operation.

After about 5 hours of rescue efforts, all the stranded students were brought to safety.
