A joint military drill by the US and South Korea at the end of June is raising concerns over whether it poses a threat to China's security.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang says China is watching the situation closely. He's urging calm to avoid anything that will add stress on the situation or harm other countries' interests in the region.
The US and South Korea will carry out a vast joint military exercise on the Yellow Sea. The maneuvers will test the capability to launch missiles, anti-submarine weapons and gather intelligence.
