A recent heat wave is not only grilling people but also animals. Zoos in many provinces have taken measures to keep the animals cool. Due to zoo keepers's care, animals are staying cool, away from the heat wave.

Outside, the burning sun is baking people, however, there is quite a different scene inside. Enjoying the cool breeze in the air-conditioned room, this happy panda is living a life of luxury. Watermelon and ice-cream don't only cool people down in this heat but also these animals. Such wonderful living conditions are provided by the dedicated zoo keepers.

Wang Zezhong, Zoo keeper, Beijng Zoo, said, "Due to the high temperatures, we have taken measures to help the animals stay cool. Cooling and adjusting the animals' diet are two main measures we take. For most animals, we choose to spray water to cool them down. Ice, fresh vegetables and fruits, as well as some medicines are provided to help the animals cope with the high temperatures. No animals have taken sick since the heat wave began."

Many animals get to take several showers a day to beat the heat. This tiger is enjoying the cool shower.
