The foriegn Ministry opened its doors to the public last Saturday. Some middle school student were able to sharpen their journalism skills at a mock news conference.

Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi and Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu were at the conference to communicate with the teenagers.

The aspiring journalists were concerned about many current strategic issues.

A student said, "There is a new saying ---Expo diplomacy. I have a question, what have we done to develop Expo diplomacy? "

Ma Zhaoxu, Foreign Ministry Spokesman, said, "We have focused on two points in diplomatic work this year. One is what you just mentioned, Expo diplomacy, another is public diplomacy. Inviting all of you to the Foreign Ministry, to meet and communicate with us, is a part of public diplomacy. So actually your question covers almost all of our work this year. "

During routine days, the spokesman only answers question related to foreign policies. This time, the spokesman replied to all the questions from the students.

Another student said, "Nowadays, several world famous universities are selecting excellent students from our country to study abroad. Do you think it will cause an outflow of talent?"

Ma said, "This is a quite sharp question, and it's also very professional. The policy of reformation and opening means to develop our country by communicating with the outside world in order to utilize advanced knowledge and technology, and let these talents make contributions to the development of our country."

To allow students to have a deeper understanding of diplomatic work, about 200 students witnessed the inaugural ceremony of newly posted diplomats.

Yang Jiechi, Foreign Minister, said, "I think all the students will remember today. I will absolutely remember today. Meeting them is like meeting the future hope of our country. "

Several students also say they want to become a diplomat when they are older, and make contributions to the country.
