Dignitaries attending the ongoing AIDS 2010 conference in Vienna have stressed the importance of funding in the delivery of medicine and treatment process.

An estimated 20 billion US dollars is needed over the next three years to sustain progress in tackling the disease. Out of the 33 million people living with HIV-AIDS, only 5.2 million now get the drugs they need.

Bill Gates, Microsoft Founder & Owner of Gates Foundation, said, Bill "Even if we act now to prevent future infections the only way to save more lives immediately is to expand the number of people receiving treatment. Unfortunately the current high costs are making that very difficult... the other is to reduce the other cost - of delivering them."
