For more reflections on the issues related to the current floods, we are joined in the studio by our current affairs commentator Dr. Gao Zhikai.

More transparency welcomed

1. Good evening Dr. Gao. Unlike in previous cases involving public interest, such as SARS, this time around we are seeing much more coverage of the floods and stories of soldiers risking their lives to save people. What do you think about such detailed disaster and thorough coverage by the media?

The need to keep it balanced

2. Naturally it leads to our next question, which is, how much disaster coverage is enough? Because the public will feel flood fatigue if the media keeps bombarding them with similar stories again and again.
