The Ministry of Public Security has ordered police at various levels to respect the dignity of people arrested in a widespread crackdown on prostitution.

The move comes after a number of incidents in which police used questionable methods in the crackdown campaign launched by the Ministry on June 22nd.

In some cases, the suspects suffered sudden death during custody while others involve the street humiliation of suspected prostitutes. These cases have prompted heated debates on the Internet about the correct behavior of law-enforcement forces.
