Former Beijing Olympics staff gathered at the national stadium for the celebration. These two young singers had been scheduled to sing the anthem song of Beijing Olympics at the opening ceremony in 2008. They managed to perform at the 2 year anniversary of the opening of the games. Many people at the ceremony had devoted themselves to both the Beijing Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

Meanwhile, the new mascots for the Bird's Nest, "Lino" and "Olin" were unveiled at the event. Red is the dominant theme and combines the traditional Chinese red color and the arc frame of the Bird Nest.
