China Express Airlines, a feeder carrier, is set to be grounded on Wednesday. More than 30 scheduled flights have been canceled in the wake of last week's accident in the country's southwest.
The Civil Aviation Administration of China will conduct overall security checks on all of the company's planes, and a further determination will be made based on the results. On Saturday, the CAAC ordered the carrier to halt operations and conduct safety inspections, after the right wing of a Bombardier CRJ-200 regional jet scraped the ground upon landing at Guiyang Airport. The firm says it will strive to complete the required probe within five days, so officials can apply to resume operations.
