UN Under Secretary-General: Emerging nations key to achieving MDGs

The MDGs were established in 2000 at the Millennium Summit in New York. World leaders had pledged to do their utmost to attain the goals by 2015. The objectives included slashing poverty, fighting disease, checking environmental degradation and boosting health. Full Story>>

UN Under Secretary-General Michel Sidibe says emerging nations are key to solving and achieving Millennium Development Goals.

He says China and South Africa are leading the way and that social justice and the redistribution of opportunity is the ultimate vision for developing countries. CCTV News presenter and UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador, James Chau, has this exclusive interview.
