The President of the mainland's Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Strait, Chen Yunlin, arrived in Taipei. Chen will meet his counterpart from Taiwan's Straits Exchange Foundation, Chiang Pin-kung.

Chen was warmly welcomed upon arriving at the Yuanshan Grand Hotel, where the three-day meeting will be held. A meeting between vice-presidents from both associations was held on the eve of the formal talks, dubbed the "Chen-Chiang Meeting".
