College art work up for auction

More than 300 pieces of art went under the hammer at the China Guardian Quarterly Auction. Though none of the artists are famous, the auction still managed to garner a lot of attention.

The auction, named, "College Age", is dedicated to students from the eight top China art colleges.

Oil paintings, Chinese paintings, sculptures and photographs were on display. The 345 selected pieces of work featured various themes.

They received different reactions to these new pieces of art.

An art lover said, "The works are delicate, especially the oil paintings."

An art lover said, "I don't quite appreciate these. I prefer more traditional ones."

An art lover said, "The coloring, and themes all seem a little routine to me. There is something missing in the works."

Many describe the art market this year as overheated. Pieces of art keep reaching record high prices.

Though none of the artists are famous, the auction still managed to
garner a lot of attention.
