Yo-Yo Ma receives Presidential Medal of Freedom

On Tuesday, U.S. President Barack Obama named fifteen recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, including renowned Chinese-American cellist Yo-Yo Ma.

The Medal of Freedom is America's highest civilian honor, presented to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to science, world peace, culture or other significant public endeavors.

As one of the world' best cellists, Yo-Yo Ma has received numerous awards, including 16 Grammy Awards. In addition to Yo-Yo, other recipients included former U.S. President George H.W.Bush, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Maya Angelou and Warren Buffett.

On Tuesday, U.S. President Barack Obama named fifteen recipients of the
