Chinese Embassy in Colombia urges release of Chinese hostages

The Chinese Embassy in Colombia is urging the Colombia's government to do everything possible to rescue four Chinese citizens who have been taken hostage.

The four citizens were taken hostage by FARC, a rebel group that operates across the South American country. The Colombian government has condemned the rebel force for the kidnapping. Angelino Garzon, the vice president of Colombia, demanded FARC release the hostages immediately.

The abduction took place on Thursday afternoon, near the city of San Vicente de Caguan. The Chinese Embassy in Colombia is advising Chinese nationals to take precautionary measures, and contact official channels if there's an emergency.
