Chinese President Hu Jintao is continuing his visit to Kazakstan. He met with his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev on Monday to discuss ways to push the two countries ties to a higher level. Both sides are expected to expand cooperation on trade, economy and energy.

A grand welcoming ceremony was held for the visiting Chinese President in the Kazak capital Astana. Hu Jintao held talks with Nazarbayev and other Kazak leaders, hoping to make plans for further developing bilateral ties. Both sides are expected to sign cooperation agreements ranging from economic and trade to environmental protection. Energy cooperation is also likely to top the agenda between the resource-rich nation and the world's largest energy consumer.
