Connecting China's most vibrant economic zones, the high speed train is indeed catching many people's attention. All the outstanding features are the latest examples of China's astonishing drive to modernize its railway infrastructure.

Zhao Guotang, Chief Engineer of Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway Co. said "The Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway reflects a big step for China's railway development.It includes the high stability of bridges and tunnels, smooth-riding features, a reliable telecommunication system."

The railway links the country's five major transport hubs, including Beijing, Tianjin and Jinan.

Many say it will be a great boom for local economies.

Exectutive Vice Mayor of Jinan City said "We're planning the establishment of a new city centered around the high-speed railway, it's expected to cover more than 100 square kilometers."

Being the longest high-speed railway in the world, the Beijing-Shanghai line connects a quarter of China's population and more than 40-percent of its economic power. It means more residents are expected to enjoy the anticipated boom on the tracks.
