More than 250,000 people have been evacuated in east China's Jiangxi Province, due to severe flooding. Troops have been mobilized to help with relief efforts, while the disaster alert has been raised to the highest level, after days of continuous rain.

At least 3 million people in the area have been affected, and it's not over yet. Torrential downpours greatly elevated the water level in the city of Shanbei on Saturday afternoon, after dikes in the area were breached 3 times in the past week.

To avoid new floods, local officials dispatched a team of more than 200 soldiers to line up sandbags along riverbanks. After a continuous effort lasting 11 hours, troops also successfully completed repairs to a burst barrier on the Anhe River.
