According to the White House, during US Vice President Joe Biden's visit to China, he will stop in Chengdu, the capital city of southwest China's Sichuan province, where he will deliver a keynote speech at Sichuan University.

Biden will visit Wenchuan county, the area hit by the 2008 quake in Sichuan province. During the earthquake, US military planes flew to the region, sending a large amount of aid materials. Altogether, China received donations worth more than 60-million US dollars from the US.

Meanwhile, US government officials, including former US President George W. Bush, also visited the area shortly after the quake to give their condolences to victims' families.
