China's Ministry of Railways has announced that the families of foreign travelers who were killed in last month's deadly train collision will get the same compensation payment as the families of Chinese victims.

They have denied media reports that an Italian victim received 30 million euros in compensation. According to the Ministry each victim will be compensated 915 thousand yuan, or just over 134 thousand US dollars. At least 40 people were killed in the Wenzhou train collision, including three foreigners.
