While some tourists who came to Qiantang River for tide-viewing have returned home after the Mid-Autumn festival, the tidal bore is showing no signs of stopping. Scientists have predicted this year's tidal bore to be the most spectacular in the past nine years. And so far that prediction has been proved accurate with a magical display of aquatic beauty.

The Mid-Autumn Festival coupled with fine weather along the banks of Qiantang River bode another great day for tide viewing.

In order to seize a good point of view along the river banks, some tide enthusiasts came as early as five in the morning. While for others, the occasion's significance lies less in the tide-watching and more in the social gathering.

A tourist said, "I have never quite seen tides like this before. 20 of us came together to enjoy this moment." And for those who are intent on storing this moment for sharing later, it has proved a difficult task in front of the awe-inspiring tidal bore.

A tourist said, "When the tide came, I really wanted to scream. I was so excited. But I tried to control myself because that would affect my filming."

While fine weather and daylight combine to provide the best setting for filming night tides are definitely not to be missed, especially for children allowed to stay up.

A tourist said, "I am so excited to see the tides. They're magical!" Not losing to the grandiosity of day tides, night tides work their magic through a combination of melodic symphony of the waters, a more relaxed environment where visitors and families can enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival.
