China: S. Korean coastguard stabbing is isolated case

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed regret for the fatal stabbing of a South Korean coastguard by a Chinese fishing captain on Monday.

Spokesman, Liu Weimin, called the case an isolated one, and hoped it will not affect relations between China and South Korea.

Liu Weimin, spokesperson of Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said, "China is willing to cooperate with South Korea for investigation. China will take care of relevant matters properly. Meanwhile, we hope South Korea will fully protect Chinese fishermen’s safety and rights. "
