In Namibia, visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi is scheduled to hold talks with the country’s leaders. Namibia is the third leg of Yang’s one-week African tour.
Yang has just left Niger, where he held talks with Nigerien leaders on Wednesday. Yang said the two countries have maintained a strong momentum in their respective development. He also said he expects both sides to expand cooperation in trade, culture, education and health.
Nigerien President Mahamadou Issoufou said his country would like work to create good conditions for Chinese enterprise to invest in Niger. Yang Jiechi has also met with Nigerian Minister of State Bazoum Mohamed. The two sides signed agreements on economic and technical cooperation after the meeting.
