The US Commerce Department is likely to delay for a month its decision on additional tariffs for Chinese solar-equipment imports.

The department was supposed to make a preliminary determination on whether to add tariffs on Wednesday. Solar World Industries America and six other companies filed a complaint last October with the US International Trade Commission and the Commerce Department for what they call illegal Chinese government subsidies.

The US International Trade Commission voted unanimously in Washington last December saying US industry had been hurt by the Chinese imports. Fourteen Chinese manufacturers have raised a plea in response to the allegations.
