The coming of the Year of the Dragon has put the "Dragon dance" centre stage for the celebrations. The traditional dance is said to chase away bad luck, but this year sees a new twist on the old performance.

In an aquarium in eastern China, the dragon dance has been performed under water. The five meter-long golden dragon dazzled visitors with a breathtaking aquatic display. The performance also took place in Thailand, where a large population of Chinese descent will join in with the lunar new year celebrations.
