The fifth Session of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference will kick off on Saturday. Many CPPCC members have already arrived in Beijing - bringing with them their ideas for the country’s development.

There are still two days left until the opening of the final session of the 11th CPPCC, but members have already started to arrive - and they are bringing lots of ideas. Chi Baorong is a professor from Jilin University’s Medical College.

Chi Baorong, CPPCC Member, said, "I’m a medical worker, and I’m particularly interested in topics concerning medical and educational development. My suggestion is to implement an out-patient real-name registration system. This would benefit patients because it would cut out unnecessary examinations. And doctors would be able to easily access patient data."

Sheng Lianxi, also from Jilin Province, calls for expanding vocational education for workers of rural areas.

Sheng Lianxi, CPPCC Member, said, "What I’m most concerned about is how to improve quality of education of workers from rural areas - to turn the most populous country into one that is not just big in number but rich in human resources. "

Wang Shuping is a technician working for a company in Changchun city, the capital of Jilin province. He calls for society to pay more attention to, and care for, disabled persons.

Wang Shuming, CPPCC Member, said, "I will put forward a proposal on increasing job opportunities for disabled people. This is the best way to improve their lives. For example, they should set up a specialized district where disabled people can start businesses. They could also develop public service jobs."

But these are only a slice of the suggestions. Over the course of the eleven day meeting, CPPCC members are expected to deal with a wide range of issues, including agriculture, education, urbanization.
