Premier Wen Jiabao vows to expand consumer spending and continue to reduce over-reliance on investment and exports. The growth rate will slow to 7.5 percent, the lowest since 2005. The Premier’s term in office will end next year. He promises to sustain the economic reform by keeping the CPI below 4 percent. He delivered the government work report at the opening ceremony of the NPC annual session. In the next hour, our team of reporters and panelists will examine the landscape of the Chinese economy in 2012 especially the adversity that our second biggest world economy faces.
