Russian President Vladimir Putin is in China for an official visit. It's Putin's first trip to Asia since he reclaimed the presidency. He says the trip is to build a growing partnership with Russia's neighbor to the South. Full story>>

For more analysis, we're now joined in the studio by Mr. Jia Xiudong, research fellow from the China Institute of International Studies. Mr. Jia, thanks for joining our discussion.

Q1: China is one of the first countries Putin chose to visit following his inauguration... a sign that Russia takes its ties with China very seriously. Could you explain their relationship within the context of the SCO?

Q2: Putin has won back the Russian presidency, what can we expect the future development of Sino-Russian relations?
