Chinese trampoline team swept all the gold medals in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The same team will embark on their journey soon as the London Olympics draws near. Will they keep the glory they had four years ago?

Ballet in the air.

This is the training base of Chinese trampoline team. Members gather here at nine o’clock sharp everyday for preparations before the London Olympics. They may look relaxed but the information board on the side shows us the intense atmosphere before the Olympics.

For the four experienced team members, it will not be an easy task to keep the 2008 record. Injuries are the biggest threat.

Lu Chunlong, member of Chinese Trampoline Team, said, "I have so many injuries on my body, old and new. You know trampoline is a very dangerous sports event. It is inevitable to hurt your body during training, like this scar. It’s quite common for us."

Apart from the injuries, stress is another hurdle for these athletes.

Hu Xinggang, coach of Chinese Trampoline Team, said, "Though all of them have participated in world class competitions many times, they will still have great pressure at the Olympics. Apart from daily training, we have also doctors that help our athletes relieve their pressure. On our side, we don’t pressure them. There’s no concrete goals, only to show their own strength at the competition."

One poster on the information board caught our attention..we learned from the coach that it was made for the athletes to help them relieve the pressure of the upcoming Olympics.

Different training plans are tailor-made to each member according to their own conditions.

As the London Olympics draws near, we hope these ballet dancers in the air will give it their best shot.
