As some more Chinese athletes preparing for the upcoming London Olympics, the Taekwondo team, who despite being small in number, are still packed full of stars. They just capped off their preparations with a practice match against a South Korean club.

With 1 defending champion and two strong contestants lined up for the Olympics, the Chinese Taekwondo team is as confident as you can get. Wu Jingyu, Hou Yuzhuo and Liu Xiaobo are all experienced fighters on the world stage. But they're not taking any of the training lightly, especially a practice match against a traditional powerhouse like the Republic of Korea.

Dong Jun, Deputy Director of National Boxing & Taekwondo Center, said, "The main purpose of the practice match is to let our athletes get a feel of what the real match in London will be like. So they can be more prepared."

The players ARE getting a feel of the real thing. They enter the ring in the same order as they will for the London games. The referees have ample experience officiating international games. And the cheering from the crowd is as loud as you’ll find in any real match.

Wang Zhijie, Coach of National Taekwondo Team, said, "Winning or losing isn't so important in the practice matches. The most important thing is to find weak spots that need to be improved."

Coach Wang says this is the team's last opportunity to assess and adjust them before they head to the UK next week. And then it's time for the team to face up to the real challenge.
