Plane lands in Wuhan after receiving threat

A Shenzhen Airlines flight was diverted to Wuhan airport in central China after receiving a threatening message on Thursday evening. Flight ZH9706, bound for Shenzhen in Guangdong province, took off from Xiangfan city in Hubei Province at 9:50 pm.

The carrier said in a special announcement via its official microblog account that the plane landed at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport at 11:22 p.m. after receiving a threatening message.

The announcement did not elaborate what the message was. Police have intervened to investigate the incident. This is the second similar incident after an Air China flight from Beijing to New York returned to Beijing after receiving a threatening message on Wednesday evening. No results of the investigation have been disclosed.
