Two people suspected of stabbing a tourist couple on Huashan Mountain in Shaanxi province turned themselves in to police on Friday. But the victims have raised questions over whether they are the real culprits. Christy Scull has the details.

Investigation results released by police say the two suspects are scalpers who were reselling admission tickets for a profit.

The couple argued with the scalpers when they wanted a refund, and the incident descended into a fight.

But one of the victims says on his microblog he’s not sure whether the suspects who turned themselves in are the right ones, as he’s never seen their photos.

Liu Hongxuan, Vice Director, Huayin Public Security Bureau said, "The suspects have confessed everything, we are sure the evidence is sufficient. But it’s our fault we didn’t have time to send the suspects’ photos to the victim."

This was what happened at the site at mid-day, when the number of tourists was at its peak.

But tourists are still flocking to the foot of the mountain.

Tourist, Huashan Mountain scenic area said, "The road up the mountain was totally blocked."

A large number of tourists, who were stranded at the top of the mountain for several hours began to demand their money back.

Xu Denggui, Vice Manager, Huashan Travel Group said, "Dozens of tourists were quite angry, Then they lost their temper. Some people at the bottom of the mountain blocked the road to the shuttle bus."

Some of the stranded tourists had to walk down the mountain road, which isn’t allowed for safety reasons.

It took 7 hours till late at night for the management to finish giving money back to all the visitors.

"This is my apology to all the tourists."

The management office later stopped selling tickets until order was restored.
