The death toll from an explosion at a residential building in North China’s Baoding city has risen to 3 as another two bodies were found. Police says the illegal manufacturing and storage of detonators triggered the blast.

34 people were injured in the explosion. 4 have been discharged from hospital. Two of the 30 still hospitalized remain in critical condition. Part of the building has collapsed. Witnesses say the explosion shattered windows of buildings 200 meters away.

Police found home-made detonator shells at the six-story building. Detonator shells and explosive materials were also discovered in the basement.
