Tel interview: High risk groups see rise in infections

AIDS strikes the hardest among teenagers and elderly people in China. And, rates of AIDS in the gay male population are on the rise. This is from a national report on the infectious disease released by the Ministry of Health. Full Story>>

Joining us now with more insight on this issue is Professor Zhang Linqi. He’s the Director of Tsinghua University’s Institute of Human Virology and Integrated Research Center for AIDS.

Q1. Can you tell us which groups are most at risk of being infected by the deadly virus, and what can be done to better protect them?

Q2. According to the report, infections among teenagers and the elderly is on the rise. Are they more vulnerable to the disease or are there some other factors behind this?

Q3. In your opinion, what preventive measures should the government take to tackle the spread of HIV/AIDS?
