The Na Yong Charity Federation is a philanthropic organization based in southwest China's Guizhou Province. It’s dedicated to helping needy students in the mountainous areas of Guizhou. Many will attend the exhibition in the hope of resolving their funding issues.
Li Jun, president of Na Yong Charity Federation, said, "We’re the volunteers of the federation. We want to get in touch with foundations through the expo. We lack the resources and capital, and hope more foundations can support us."
Most charity organizations are not for profit, and require diversified funding channels. Experts say an appropriate partnership needs to be established to help those in need.
Tao Ming, vice secretary-general of China Siyuan Poverty Alleviation Foundation, said, "We’ve been approached by dozens of charities today. But what’s most important is an effective coordination system and joint working plan."
More than 800 charity organizations are participating in the event. The organizers have also set up an online website to enable continued contact and communications after the fair.
