A traditional family gathering in Tibet, has turned into a gala this year.

"We just sing and dance and celebrate the good life we enjoy." Yangjin said.

Yangjin’s extended family has over 30 people. Before, it was an onerous task for all of them to visit each other during the new year’s season. But this year, Yangjin proposed holding one gala event to replace all the visits a new idea welcomed by the whole family.

"I feel very happy to share my happiness with others. In the new year, I want to work hard and enrich myself." Yangjin's daugther said.

"My parents lived together in great harmony, and we too must carry on their traditions. There should be unity and love in the family." Yangjin's son-in-law said.

Meanwhile, in Northeast China’s Yichun city, visitors just can’t get enough of the ice and snow.

Here, what’s called A "rime scenery" a natural wonder, and a feast for the eyes of these photographers. And there’s also dragon boat racing held on a road covered in snow.

When night falls, the lantern show is also a must-see.

"I’m from Shanghai, I’ve got used to things in Shanghai. And it’s so much fun here. We all enjoyed ourselves." Chen Haiying, tourist said.

In East China’s Zhejiang province, a unique local ritual called the "Fire Dance" is performed.

Dancers begin training from a young age, allowing the soles of their feet to get used to the heat.

The ancient dance is meant to ward off evil spirits. But recently, the name has been changed to the "fire of peace", signifying peace and prosperity in the new year.
