Documentary "Taipei Palace Museum" broadcasted

There has been a hit documentary on Beijing's Palace Museum, but Taipei has a Palace Museum which also boasts countless ancient treasures. A documentary series recounting its history and introducing the museum's artifacts began showing on China Central Television on Monday night.

The documentary, "Taipei Palace Museum", is produced by the Central Newsreels and Documentary Film Studio and Jiu Zhou Video and Audio Publishing House. The same production crew that churned out the documentary "Palace Museum" of Beijing is responsible for this production.

The 12-episode documentary took two years to make. It provides a comprehensive picture of 650-thousand treasures of Taipei Palace Museum, with interviews of a hundred or so experts about the stories behind some of the cultural relics. The documentary also covers the large-scale migration of relics that took place 60 years ago.
