The China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe has taken their latest stage extravaganza to the Shanghai World Expo. You may not recall the group by name, but their performance called "Goddess of Mercy" made them a worldwide phenomenon in 2008. Now, their latest work, "My Dream," is nothing short of amazing.

Six of the eighteen performances are from the group's repertoire, and include "Goddess of Mercy" and "Yellow Earth". Vocal solo, duet, Chinese and western musical instruments performing, varying dances, Peking Opera, and figure language poem recital... the new programs are an affective arousal for audience members as well as great challenge to the artists.

Tai Lihua, who herself is the lead dancer in the "Goddess of Mercy" and a hearing impaired artist, introduces a gift of song for the Expo.

Tai Lihua, Chairman of Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe, said, "Our fellow blind singers performed the theme song of the newly-opened Life and Sunshine Pavilion. It expresses our sincere greetings to the Expo."

Life and Sunshine Pavilion is the first exhibition hall set up for disabled people in the Expo's 159 year history.

Founded in 1987, the China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe is composed of artists with sight, hearing, mental and physical disabilities, or speech impairments. The group has toured all over the world and won much acclaim and respect.
