The Chinese dance drama, "Dream of Red Mansions" made its debut in the Arab world at Cairo Opera House this week. The performance won warm applause from an international audience.

Based on one of the most famous classic works of Chinese literature, the drama tells the tragic love story of three young characters, the much coddled but rebellious boy Baoyu, and his two female cousins Daiyu and Baochai.

Baoyu's vain struggle against his suffocating family finally results in the death of his true love Daiyu, and an unwanted marriage to Baochai.
