Magazine holds picture exhibition in Beijing

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of China Pictorial magazine, it is holding an exhibition of some of its best photography and paintings in Beijing.

Over 170 photos and 80 painting and calligraphy works are on exhibit. The photos are the result of a careful selection from 745 past magazine covers and hundreds of thousands of photographic works.

The exhibits record some of the most important moments in the history of the People's Republic of China, showcasing the growth of the country. China Pictorial was first issued in July 1950 and is now has more than 20 versions in other languages.

The publication is currently issued in more than 100 countries and regions, serving as a window for foreigners to better understand China.
